GERHARD PFANDL
Biography
Associate Director of the Biblical Research Institute. He is a native of Austria and holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Old Testament from Andrews University. He has worked as a church pastor in Austria and in the Southern California Conference. From 1977‑1989 he was Professor of Religion at Bogenhofen Seminary in Austria. Prior to joining the Biblical Research Institute in 1999 he served for seven years as Field Secretary of the South Pacific Division in Sydney. He has published many articles for scholarly and popular journals in German and English and is the author of The Time of the End in the Book of Daniel (Adventist Theological Society Dissertation Series, 1992), Daniel: The Seer of Babylon (Review and Herald, 2004), and The Gift of Prophecy (Pacific Press, 2008).
