C. GARY HULLQUIST

Biography
Born in Riverside, California in 1948, I was introduced to the Seventh-day Adventist Church through both grandparents who joined the church in the first few years of the 20th century. Graduate of La Sierra College and Loma Linda University School of Medicine, I entered the Family Practice residency at Florida Hospital and then the mission field. First, ten years in southern Appalachia, starting a church and church school in a dark county of northeast Tennessee. Our young family of four then moved to Malawi, Africa in 1984 when Medicare’s DRG system closed the doors of the county hospital where I worked. After a 6 year term with the General Conference, we settled in Fletcher, North Carolina for the completion of our children’s education. I returned to work in Emergency Medicine but soon joined an Adventist health consulting firm in Atlanta, Georgia, where I have been a partner for the past 16 years. Other publications include His Story in the Stars: an astronomical gospel journey, and Garlic—Nature’s Perfect Prescription, both printed by TEACH Services, my brother’s publishing house in Brushton, NY.
